Phandelver Encounters – Pack 7

Hello! We've made another couple of encounters from 'Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk', working towards finishing all the encounters from the Endless Void.

This time around, we've done 'Occluding Miasma' and 'The Nematode' (complete with its own vomiting animation in our foundry module), Both maps are fully detailed to the adventure but the warped landscape can also work for any adventures into strange dreamscapes or chaotic environments!
As with all our recreations, both maps are included free with our foundry module, fully integrated with lighting, walls and sounds! Apple Orchard [35×35]

"In the heart of the Apple Orchard lies a tranquil haven, where the sweet scent of ripe apples mingles with the earthy perfume of fallen leaves underfoot. The air hums with the gentle buzz of bees darting between blossoms, their industrious song harmonizing with the distant rustle of wind through branches.

A cozy cottage, nestled amidst the orchard's bounty, whispers tales of a retired adventurer who sought solace here. Boxes and baskets overflow with crisp apples, awaiting the imminent arrival of a wagon to carry them away."

Apple Orchard is a 35×35 map is a peaceful place, untouched by the world's chaos—what a terrible shame it would be if a band of goblins, drawn by the scent and opportunity, were to descend from the hills before the harvest could leave.

This map, as usual, comes with a number of tiles to adjust the encounter to your needs and has been set up in our Foundry module to make it easy for you to swap between the variants!

Brig [34×30]

"You stand at the ship's prow, surveying the seas before you with the wind in your hair and the sun on your back. You close your eyes for a moment, enjoying the sensation, but your meditation is disturbed by a cry from the crow's nest, a shout whose words are lost to you in the beating of the wind. You glance to the top of the mainmast to see the barrelman hunched over the side of his post, pale with fear. You follow his gaze towards a shape in the distance - a great shadow moving beneath the waves.

The crew falls silent as the figure begins to move towards the ship, several of those around you nervously eyeing the cannons. You watch as it sinks into the abyss and disappears, and all is still for a moment, just long enough that it seems the threat is passed. Several of the crew breathe a sigh of relief, but their celebrations are cut short as great writing tentacles lurch forth from the depths and constrict around the ship's hull, splintering wood as the creature tries to drag you to a watery grave."

Brig is a 34x30 map of a two-masted sailing vessel, perfect for seafaring and swashbuckling adventures! The ship comes with sails furled and unfurled, laden with cannons or simply ferrying cargo, and with a few other variant elements besides, including an empty variant you can decorate yourself!

This map, as usual, comes with a number of tiles to adjust the encounter to your needs, as well as standalone versions of the ship (including an empty variant) if you'd like to use it in your own scenes, and has been set up with walls, lighting, and interactive tiles in our Foundry VTT module.

Central Post Office [31×30]

"The postmaster, scribbling on his parchment, looks up reluctantly, regarding you with scorn. He glances at the poorly-wrapped parcel you've placed before him, then back up at you, peering over his half-moon spectacles.

"I can't accept this without Form 3B." He returns to his work without a second thought

You ask where the form can be found, and he rolls his eyes, then points to the side, indicating the next desk.

You join the line for the next desk, and after several minutes of waiting, you arrive at the front of the queue. You ask for Form 3B, and she frowns.

"Form 3B was discontinued - you need Form 27C. You can get that from the postmaster at the next desk."

Your frustration building, you re-join the queue for the postmaster, and you wait. After what feels like an eternity, you finally reach the front of the line, and you step forward. Without even looking at you, he grunts, holds up a finger, and then taps the small sign he has placed at his desk.

Back in 10 minutes."

Central Post Office is a 31x30 map of a city's postal services base of operations, where the letters and parcels are sorted before they are sent out for delivery. Perhaps a friend of the party sent an angry letter in haste, and now needs to retrieve it before it reaches its destination, or perhaps the party seek to avail of the post office's services, but find themselves lost in a maze of red tape and bureaucracy.

This map, as usual, comes with a number of tiles to adjust the encounter to your needs, and has been set up in our Foundry module to make it easy for you to swap between the variants!
